Poetry: Handle with Care

I have for you a present
A gift not shared often
It's packaged up tightly
Once hard but now softened

My gift is wrapped in layers
Cautiously embalmed with love
As you open each stratum
Be gentle and treat with white gloves

The box was once empty
But now filled with belief
You'll take good care of this gift
Not crush it in a sheaf

This gift is very fragile
And difficult to impart
See you are the one I've chosen
To handle with care my heart
